I voted not to Floyd.

Because too many little tools to deal with just to tune 'em up. And the metal nut thingy.

Way too much hassle for me. Even when they don't wang up and have a D-Tuna. Changing strings is torture.

Had to vote no... Floyds are just ugly most of the time and all the other reasons mentioned above.

Having said that, the black Floyd on The Raven works well but that's because it doesn't stand out.

Floyds are stupid and I wouldn't want one, and I wouldn't want a seven string either.... so in this case I vote: HELL YES!!! What else are you going to do with a seven stringer besides open the gates of hell with a demonic dive-bomb?!? (please, I know there are other things to do with a 7string, I was just being dramatic and don't need any youtube links.)

Haterz gonna hate. Only a real man can handle the power of a Floyd. :p (plus, it's only way to do gen-yoo-ine EVH. Not to mention Montrose's Bad Motor Scooter.)

I'm not a big Floyd Rose fan. To each his own, but I'll pass. I listen to Jeff Beck, or Jimi, or Greg Koch, and the thought 'Man, if only he had a Floyd Rose' never enters my mind.

I grew up with Floyds and I also have 7 strings with them! I never have any problem setting them up and the STAY in tune!

Duuuuuude!!!!! I think it would be cool!!!! Get a tremol-no put in at the PTC too!!! Orrrrrrrr..... consider a 'Down Only Trem Route'

That way you can:

1. dive bomb!!
2. Put a D-Tuna on the Low B and make it an A-Tuna without impacting the other strings
3. do any other de-tunings/alternate tunings without impacting the other strings
4. Set up much easier
5. Dive Bomb............ again!

I have a few guitars set up like this. After all you have the Raven with an uproute.... I think you will want to play with the tunings a lot more with this, so teh down only or teh Tremol-no would be cool.

This right here. I love playing on them, but way too much hassle. If I had a guitar tech....different story....but if I have to do all the maintenance forget it! Haha!

May I suggest one more thing that helps with the stability of the whole system? Ibanez EDGE locking studs and anchors. The greatest step to complete stability of the system.

I'll remember that the next time I break out in "Eruption"...

Oh, right, that'll be never! :D

You have to Floyd that beast! And then keep a lit cigarette on the headstock.

I also think you should refinish it to a Goldtop/black back.

I dont use Floyds but you know what? You do - so freakin' do it and own that motha@#%!

Plus after playing the Raven I have a new found respect for Floyded PRSi because that thing felt like butter.
