To buy a core DGT or a SE DGT?

Yes, I plan on purchasing mine at the local Guitar Center. However, it seems most of their stuff is the open box stuff that every 14 year old sits & plays on Saturdays for several hours. I'd like a brand new one.

I don't remember the last new guitar I bought. You can save a lot of money by buying pre-loved instruments. And you don't have to stress about putting the first ding in the finish!

I've tried buying shoes online and that doesn't often work. I need to try them on first.

For me, choosing the right guitar is a lot more intense than picking a pair of shoes. It's also more expensive!

I recently purchased the DGT SE. I swapped the stock tuners either PRS locking tuners and added ivory tuner knobs. I replace the SE bridge with a USA MannMade bridge. I also replaced the stock sheet metal stamped trem claw with a machined brass claw (Amazon) more for aesthetics than function I love the stock pickups and see no reason to upgrade them. I am absolutely in love with this guitar. The tone, sustain and playability is far above its modest price point. I am a bmuch bigger PRS fan now. I placed a preorder for a PRS Vela S2 with my favorite guitar store. I own 16 electric guitars and none of them are offset like the Vela. I love the satin white pearl lacquer finish - especially the matching headstock. The look and specs have me excited to get it.

I have a 2021 Vela in a transparent walnut finish and it is a very well made guitar. Whoever did the frets did a bang-up job. It has a narrower nut width compared to most PRS guitars just like the DGT does so should feel at home quickly.
