for years I bought used McCarty pups on eBay and put them into my Guild Bluesbird, Viking II Deluxe 335 copy, etc. I am now finding them to sound a bit thin. Looking for a fuller sounding fatter pickup. Any ideas?

AFAIK McCarty pickups should have enough output due to their AlNiCo IV magnets. Have you tried to raise them up a little bit? As It happens, minutes ago I adjusted my MC58 pickup height because I was losing some... mojo. Turned height screws 3/4 of a turn, and voila! allittle more growl and bite. PRS pickups are very sensitive to height adjustments.

Edited: AlNiCo IV magnets are my favourite because they are EQ "flat" and let the true sound of the guitar go through. Maybe you are tired of that sound and want more midrange push, or more treble clarity, or more low end...

57/08s. I just got another guitar with these in them and it confirms they are my favorite PRS pickup.
