Three funerals and a wedding.

I lead a charmed life,.... but last week bit balls.

Remember how I felt a ripple in the force and misinterpreted as a sign I was buying a new guitar? That didn't happen. Instead I lost two friends to substance related overdoses (nothing new there, it's only like my 1000th funeral because of that sh!t), I got two ebay bid cancellation notices, and then the worst thing happened.... My Macbook died.

I spent the whole weekend devoid of computer time. Sure, I have a couple of G5's for music work but they never touch the internet, I have an iPhone but looking at porn (guitar or otherwise) is not nearly as fulfilling on that wack-a-do little touch screen, and I have a PC for god knows why.. but I hate the damn thing so much I just left it in the corner while yelling obscenities at it, so I spent four days without any computer related entertainment.... I didn't realize it would be so hard!

I love to read books, lots of 'em! I enjoy the outdoors (as long as it's a screened in porch or a hot tub) and used to get along quite well without the internet, and I have never been bored a single day in my life, but now I find myself twitching uncontrollably if I can't get a quick fix of computer time. When did this happen? Who have I become? Am I now just another choad who is too busy with electronics to notice the outside world? Argh!

So today I did it, I got married... To a 13" MacBook Pro, and we are in love.

I am ashamed to admit I couldn't last a week without one. My old saying about PRS guitars: "Other guitars are just stupid." has a sister saying: "Apple computers.. of course I have one (or many). What am I?... a heathen?" It makes me feel like such a dork to confess that I feel so much better after a ridiculously lame week, with actual, seriously horrible things that went wrong, by buying a certain brand of a consumer product.

What other brands of stuff are there that you just refuse to live without?

Congrats on the Mac. There are only two people in our house and we have 3 Macs and a PC. I wish you and your new bride all the best :top:

Land Rover.

Congrats on the new toy and very sorry to hear about your friends, mang.

Thanks buddy! I worked as a car porter for Range Rover for a week in the 90's, they were fun little trucks.

Thanks! I'm a little shocked I bought this as my fun/entertainment-only computer, I think it's a little better than I would've bought. I blame those bastards that cancelled my bids on guitars.

Sorry to hear about your friends.

Do you have any idea what kind of PRSi you could have bought for the price of that Mac. Seriously! Get your priorities straight, man!

Dude, sorry to hear about your friends.

But glad to hear you're back on the information tube ways. Sometimes you just need to spend. (Like I'm in a position to criticize after my recent weaknesses!)

Condolences for your friends. Congrats on the MacBook Pro, I guess.

If you would have happened to call me Sat. night I would have given you mine for a pack of strings.

Mac and I just don't see eye to eye.

Thank goodness for weddings.

I really like my Voodoo and will be bummed when it dies because you can't buy them any more. I'd be a bit lost without a PRS and a Mesa Boogie. Other brands I'm more fickle about, but I've been noticing a growing fondness for Tumi and Assos - both a bit pricey or I'd probably have more.

My Tumi Tegra-Lite International Carry-On is one of my favorite purchases. Absolutely love that piece of luggage. So much so it's all that I carry.

Diet Coke
 it's so hard to resist my precious! for those I grew-up with, they could not relate. I explained to them it was my cigarette, my cocaine (crack). It helped me distress. Also running. I am a ******* if I don't get a run in every few days.
