I'm thinking about buying one of the SE 245 for a backup guitar. Just wanting to hear some pros and cons

i have been a les paul guy for forty years...this year i bought the new bernie marsden guitar,i like it so well i bought a se 245..you cant go wrong with these guitars..i find myself playing the 245 every day..the guitar is great!! ..no one can touch these prs se at these prices..bewere you might find your other guitars sitting in there case..

Howdy!

I just picked up a 245 last week after having a regular SE Singlecut for about a year. I love the singelcut, but the 245 is a bit more Les Paul-ish in that is has a noticeable fatter (warmer) tone and a bit better sustain. The clean tone (especially on the neck pup) is unbelievable. Add some gain and this guitar just sings...

Someday I'll get an American-made PRS, but until then, I couldn't be happier with my 245... If you're looking for one as a backup, don't even hesitate...

Cheers!

Rob
