I'll guess that the Lions & UM are exceptions.

UM, yes, and I’ll watch every game this year.

However, I don’t actually watch the Lions during the season, because I’m not a fan. I only watched them in the playoffs last season so I could see The Curse of Bobby Layne foil them yet again!

I admire the tenacity of The Curse.

It caused them to completely fall apart/call a dumb game in the second half of the conference championship game, throwing away a nice first half effort.

It was pre-ordained, of course. In the first half Sisyphus (aka The Lions) rolled the rock up the hill. In the second half, the rock rolled back down as it was meant to do, and crushed them.

The Detroit Lions and Super Bowl are an unattainable combination.

And now they’re double-cursed, because I read that they made the cover of Sports Illustrated as a Super Bowl contender. And we all know that’s its own curse.

Clearly that’s the only way the curse will ever be lifted. Be nice if they got to wear a different color jersey, too. Powder blue and silver? What could be more anemic?
