There was lack of balance

But riddle me this: I play MORE now, instead of tinkering and comparing my gorgeous guitars. Everything has its place and I enjoy the guitars I have MORE, now that I have less guitars

Oh, and a Bad Cat amp. My ONLY amp I must add.
YES!

This is precisely why I want to get down to a couple of guitars and one amp.

Gets rid of all the paralysis by analysis. Let’s one play more music, instead of more guitars. Tthere’s less f#cking around.

Thus far my mission has begun, but has not been completed. I’m apparently too wishy washy to make decisions about this stuff quickly.

Sometimes it's best to just pull of the band-aid....or so I'm told

I agonise over changing out guitars which is why I keep getting more that all have there thing going on I am selling off some that I play less but each sell of often is a result of getting something new :)
I might be down to 12 if I can pull the trigger ( 3 amps )
Hell real world problems ;)

So...If I Am Reading All These Responses Right I Am Seeing Less Guitars In The Collection With The Hope In Some Instances Of Being Down To One. The Reasoning Is More Playing And Less Mental Anguish On Making A Decision So That You Can Play. Why Not Simply Make An Active Decision And Grab A Guitar And Play It? If You Have No Guitars To Select From There Is No Decision Which Seems Passive To Me. This Kind Of Thinking Shines A Light On The Fact That People Can't Make Decisions. Eliminate Choice So One Doesn't Have To Think And Decide. How About Just Pick One Up, Plug In And Make It Work? There Are Times I Switch Guitars and Amps And Don't Even Touch The Settings Just To Force Myself To Make Do With What I Have In Front Of Me. It Always Works Out And I Find Something I Can Work With Sonically In Doing So And It Forces Me To Adapt And Play Differently. If I Want To Continue Playing And Venture Down A Different Path I Am A Few Control Twists Away And I Keep Going. Maybe I Am Wired Differently? The Key Is For Each Person To Find What Works For Them...What Works For Me Is Apparently Different Than Most. Hey, I Never Said I Wasn't Crazy! 🤣

AMEN BROTHER!!!! I have 4 guitars out at all times, and it's simple, because that's how many guitar stands I have! I rotate what guitars are "out." I walk in the room, pick one up and play. If I play for over 30 minutes, I usually put that one down, and pick up another. Sometimes, I do that twice. No anguish. No stress, just pick a guitar up and play!

Amps are the same. I don't have a bunch, so all are out at once. if it's before Mrs. DTR's bed time, I pick one and play! if it's after, I plug into a digital modeler, pick a model and play!

It's really that simple. I currently have 4 tube amps, two modelers and 16 guitars (4 acoustic/12 electric). I'm a simple kinda man. Doin' the best I can.

Now, when I WAS in this mode of option paralysis, was back when I was building and modifying pedals and amps. Build a pedal, compare it to another one. Change two parts and listen carefully for hours to see which way I preferred... and swap guitars often to make sure. Then do the same things with amps... I spent WAY WAY WAY more time building, mod'ing and evaluating, than I did playing. Same with swapping tubes. All part of the journey, but as my hand worsens, I just want to PLAY while I still can. So, I'm in "pick up a guitar and play" mode!
