Where is that speedo pic
I've been involved with a group that has asked me to record guitar parts for them. They are country but I'm not........no matter as it has been fun. Residual is that I'm playing with cleaner tones and cleaner playing. That is a good thing.......W
I spend a lot of time farting around trying to get different tones for different parts which has "forced" me to buy a couple more amps...........W
I've got two songs that I am definitely not a fan of but I still need to come up with parts that make the song interesting.
One is done but I started seriously working on the other one today.
I decided to use this Marshall class 5 combo and force good tones out of it which I think happened today..........W
Volume and all three EQ were started at 50%. I put a Wampler Pinnacle Deluxe in front of amp with pretty high gain setting but kept guitar volume at 5 or lower.
I spend a lot of time beating myself up over tone but I have to say that the guitar solo I recorded today sounds fantastic...........W
The interesting thing is that I have an 8515 neck but a 5909 bridge in my McCarty. The neck is powerful so it is set extremely low with 5909 higher to balance out. Also i have 5909 flipped so screw coils are farther away from the adjustable bridge, makes it a little beefier.
I had to set bridge pickup lower to get what i was after and the heck with balance, I'm recording not gigging!
I had an HXDA head a while back but i moved it. Les tried to talk me into keeping it and working with it more and I wish I had. I think that head would have worked very well for this project.
Anyway, I have some decent amps to use and I got what I believe to be a super cool solo recorded so I'm going to call that a..........W.
