The PRS S2 Custom 24-08

I’d like to know more about the PRS S2 Custom 24-08. The dark red ones are quite appealing. Does anyone have any experience with those and how they compare to the traditional or core Custom 24-08? What is the main difference between the S2 series and the standard American made guitars? What influences the $2000 or more price differential?
