I love my DGT gold top, it is the perfect guitar for the gigging musician and it is incredibly versatile. Last week I was in my local music store and had my DGT with me to try out some pedals when I noticed that they had got a Bad Cat Cougar 5 amp (asian lower priced Bad Cat) in, just for fun I plugged my DGT straight in and begin the play with the three controls (volume, Master, tone) and quickly found killer tones that went from tweed type cleans to pure ZZ Top Rock. I sat a played for an hour straight and eventually had a crowd, because the tone was that sweet and yet at 5 watts this thing is loud enough to gig with in bar or club. Needless to say I bought the amp and have used it at two gigs since then and it just seems to get better the more I play it, maybe the speaker is breaking in, but at 33 lbs this is an easy load in with my DGT in my Mono gig bag and the amp with a Flashback X4 that I put in the effects loops. Maybe I just got lucky but for $450 this amp is the best deal I've fallen into in a long time. I play in a three piece band and we do everything from 50's rockabilly up to the Black Keys and other current bands, but I love the blues and we do several BB King numbers and the Cougar 5 really shines during these songs. I should mention that we mic everything because it's easier when we play larger venues to keep our sound consistent.
