Very cool. Photos have all been looking spectacular on the internet.

I guess I should have phrased it more accurately. In numbers more than one or two is what I meant.

Thanks for the answer! Keep up the good work!

NGD Golden Mesa Silver Sky w/ Maple Fretboard - very very early made

A local dealer had two Maple fretboards models. Played them both.
Took my Tungsten Rosewood for neck comparison.
Neck profiles were slightly different between Frost and Golden Mesa.
Frost had a slightly thinner neck, less shoulders.
Golden Mesa neck was very much like my Tungsten Rosewood.
Same profile but maybe just a hair slightly smaller but maybe the Maple fretboard makes me think that.
But the back profile between Tungsten Rosewood is same as Golden Mesa Maple.

    Interestingly...
Frost was made 5/25/2020 and had a slight thinner neck. Less shoulders.
Golden Mesa was made 12/3/2019 (on hang tag) but butt end of neck said 11/25/2019.
Now Frost being made recently after Covid-19 re-opening; maybe the neck profile changed a little or who knows.

Another interesting observation is that the fretboard edge on the Golden Mesa was more rounded than the Frost.
The neck doesn't have a satin finish, well it does but look like it was played or handled more, very broken in.
The Frost neck felt and looked totally slick like a brand new neck, whereas the Golden Mesa was broken in.
I don't have pictures of the Frost buy I might go back to the store and take some of the fretboard edge.
As you can see in the pictures posted below the roll is more I think.

Also the neck quality on the Frost had zero grain or very little.
Mine as you see has a lot of character and some dark mineral marks if that is what you call it.

Also if mine was made 11/25/2019 it must be a very early model no?
I mean the dealer just got it a few days ago. So they must have had it in the warehouse since Nov, 2019 and just found it?
Maybe that's why the neck profile between Golden Mesa and Tungsten Rosewood made in 2018 are similar?
Can someone tell me? Who can say?
When did they really start making the Maple neck ones. I am sure a few before NAMM but fully or it was only after NAMM.

I am happy I joined this forum before purchasing a SS. I have read not all of these guitars arrive at the guitar stores
with proper setups, but I also read they are easier to play than the average strat, more "slinky" , Easy string bending ect..
So today I was ready to buy the SS and saw online that my local guitar center in Houston has the Dodgem blue I want in stock, as well as
the Tungsten. I was hoping one of them was a 2020 model with Nitro paint.. I get there and they do have one, and its a 2020
but it is bright white. I held it for a few minutes to check it out. This guitar had the highest action I have seen on a guitar in a long time.
Even around the 12th fret, I had to push down noticeably to play a chord. The trem was slightly lifted/floating in the back.. but still,
Bending strings were tough.. It was an instant No Way today. I cannot believe GC put a $2,299 guitar out like this.
Its a bummer because that's the only place around that I can pick one up before buying, and I had the funds with me to pay..
I really want one of these guitars!! Now I am hesitant to just order one online. Maybe it was just meant to be today, so I can get the blue one. LOL

I have the SRV strat at home with10s set up with average string height. This is what I was comparing it to play or feel like.

My guess is it arrived in perfect condition and someone decided to give it a “proper” setup.

Maybe a customer before me tuned the guitar by ear and overshot it to E sharp or something, as I said the bridge was floating a bit. I didn't try to figure it out, the visit at the store was awkward as only a few customers are let in at a time, and you are escorted thru the store with a rep.

Completely agree that someone messed with it -- either an employee or camped-out customer without supervision.

Does anyone own both the rosewood and maple, or poly and nitro? The above review and photos were excellent and got me thinking. Curious about opinions on differences.

Ive always been a rosewood fan, ive got a rosewood silvery sky
But the maple looks insane, i want a maple one
Does the neck feel some what the same in terms of thickness?
I know im probably going to have to try one for myself, not even sure what answer i want here
Do they feel like different guitars
If you was blindfolded could you tell the difference
    That is the question?
I found the question in the end!!!!

I test 3 guitars yesterday. Two Maple with my own Rosewood.
If I am blindfolded I can tell the different between all three due to weight.
But also on the neck profile.
    My Rosewood is the tops.
The Gold maple I bought had a near identical neck, if I was blindfolded and I do close my eyes when I check these things.
The Frost maple neck was different with less shoulder. Not significantly but it was noticable.

Now visually the Gold maple while similar neck shape just felt slightly smaller.
Again visually only due to not seeing the rosewood fretboard , mentally I am thinking Maple is smaller since that extra wood is not there.

Also the frets on the maple feels a tad larger then my rosewood. I feel more meat in the frets when I play the Maple than I do the rosewood.

The Frost weight a lot less then the Mesa.
I choose Mesa because the neck profile was similar to my Rosewood.
Mesa not my choice of color but I pick guitars based on feel.
Also it rang a little louder.
Also plus point but not a decision point is my Mesa was made way before they announced the Maple.
    The neck was made 11/25/2019.

In the end it was how the neck felt in my hands and I played all guitars for an hour.

Ive always been a rosewood fan, ive got a rosewood silvery sky. Good for you.
But the maple looks insane, i want a maple one. Get it.
Does the neck feel some what the same in terms of thickness? Same feel, almost same thickness.
I know im probably going to have to try one for myself, not even sure what answer i want here. If you can try make the effort.
Do they feel like different guitars. They absolutely do and both are good feeling guitars.
If you was blindfolded could you tell the difference. See my answer above.
That is the question? Those are my answers.
I found the question in the end!!!! Yes you did!

I’ve seen some nice Silver Sky with flame maple necks. Are those special runs or just luck?

Got the call! Nebula is ready to pick up. The store is closed, so I'll be picking it up Thursday or Friday next week. Can't wait! Will post pics once it's here.

Now to find a nice strap to go with it....

I bought a Nebula online this morning and the guitar store cancelled/refunded my order!
This was very frustrating. I am in the market for a SS, as posted here a few days ago.
Last week I ordered a demo 2020 Tungsten from Sweetwater, and somehow during
the processing of my order, another sales rep sold my guitar to someone else.. I lost it..
So I have been combing though reverb, ebay and all the stores looking for another deal.
This morning on Reverb, Eddie's Guitars had a Nebula for $2599, and the listing said they had
3 and they were selling fast. I put it in my cart, and thought maybe I should go to their website and
buy it there.. Sure enough, there was 1 ! I got it in my cart, created an account, paid for it through Paypal..
I transferred my money from my bank to cover it just to make sure.. But a few hours later, after getting a few
confirmation emails with receipt/ invoice numbers.. Was a cancelation email. They said first someone else bought
it on Reverb..Then I get it was a guitar someone put on hold, but didn't pay yet, and I could get it if they backed out..
then, I get It was paid for, and the owner is putting it on consignment for 5K, I could rebuy it today for 5K.
Man I felt put together, I was super excited straight to wow what happened.
    No Nebula for me today...
