The Official "McCarty Singlecut" Love Thread!!

One year plus later, and my excitement for this guitar has not worn off one bit, still my favorite PRS SC ever, I still consider this one a lifetime keeper!

If you guys recall, this is my 3rd MSC, I owned two awesome ones from the PS run, and then later spec'ed this one. This guitar is at another level, really a "Holy Grail" guitar for me, the best sounding SC guitar I have ever owned. It is almost anti-climactic for me, in that there is nothing more to do with regards to SC's, the destination has been reached. I won't complain though!

Another reason to bump this thread today is because this club has a new member, who might want to post his here!! ;)

I still adore mine, too. I am really happy that I bought one. It's a total keeper.

Not it. Was it Yank?

I am amazed that Alan is currently MSC-less! Glad to know someone has a shorter attention span that me. ;)

I actually have 3 guitars that I declare to be "Lifetime Keepers" now, one that will be four years old this year! That's tremendous progress for me. :)

All right, here we go! PS McSC in Black Gold.

This is an excellent guitar. As Les once stated, this guitar doesn´t hit the preamp of an amp that hard, it has a very special clarity and articulation in its clean, crunchy and distorted tones. I love this guitar!

You know, I haven't been through as many, but I've had quite a few over the years, and honestly, the PS guitars I have are certainly lifetime keepers.

I kinda wish I had more lifetime left! But what can ya do? You get what you get.

My only problem is that since I ordered the last one, I developed a nerve issue in my hand. Fortunately, it's going to be dealt with surgically, so I can keep playing! Which is a great feeling and makes me appreciate the ones I have even more! ;)

Loving the black-gold!! My Ted DC 245 is that color, and is one of my favorites!!

I looked back through this thread, and realized I had only posted 1 of my 2 McCarty Singlecuts, but the pictures were gone. I'd like to have them both listed here, so here goes!

This first one uses the standard appointments, other than the Tremonti Pickup set I had PTC add. I had this one shipped from World Guitars, UK. Great, easy transaction!

I purchased this second one some time later from Brian's guitars.

Somewhat different appointments from the standard McCarty Singlecuts. Ziricote neck with Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Sodalite Old Birds and purfling. This one came with 59/09 bridge and 57/08 neck pickups, but had Brian change them out for HFS/Vintage Bass. Amazing instrument, from an amazing dealer.

Kevin:

Thanks for posting your 2 here, both incredible guitars!! A nice combination, totally vintage with the Dark Cherry Sunburst, and the wild and crazy Blue "Glow" with the sick quilt and Birds.

I am a little jealous, I "only" have one! Well, I shouldn't complain, I do have 2 very nice SC 245 Private Stocks, just that one is not an MSC. I guess I have the same thing going on, one Vintage and one Modern! Great minds think alike, I guess... ;)

Yes, that is one and the same!

Best Singlecut 24.5" scale PRS guitar I have ever played. Unfortunately for me, when I got the February Guitar of the Month McCarty 594 Private Stock, I fell in love with the new 594 scale (24.594"), and decided to sell/trade my 4 24.5" PRSi and rebuild the collection with 594's... :)

Hi guys,

Well I've finally done it! I've trading in a couple of guitars to buy an SC245 McCarthy Faded sunburst private stock, which will be turning up next week. I got a pretty good deal. I traded in my DGT and I had a Musician I parted with to buy the PS.

I'll post some pics next week as soon as it turns up. Really looking forward to it as I've seen all post's and pics on this thread, I glad to be part of the club finally.
