For immediate release::

The National Department of 594 Soapbars has determined that PRS 594 Soapbars are highly addictive. Specifically, we are concerned that once a guitar player acquires this model, there is a substantial risk that the player will not be able to put it down long enough to eat, sleep or attend to other daily needs and responsibilities.

In addition, we believe that overuse of this guitar with a PRS amp, such as the DG30 or HXDA, may lead to neighbors illegally demonstrating with pitchforks and torches in a desperate attempt to get the player to stop making musical noises at all hours of the day and night. This poses certain dangers to the addicted player.

The National Department of 594 Soapbars has also found that the 594 Soapbar is the coolest, most bomb, hippest, most awesome, and most killer guitar that the National Department of 594 Soapbars has ever tested. This is the apparent source of the addiction.

We recommend that the 594 Soapbar only be used as directed by a Doctor of Tone.

Thank you director. My HX/DA and Archon (and a few others) eagerly await the arrival of our 594SB specimen so that we may begin our important research on this addiction.

I stand by my assessment that PRS would have been better served putting the SB in the neck only. Some of us can't or won't spend that much money on a guitar that doesn't get us out of the early 70's :-)

At some point, PRS is going to need stop catering so much to the near retired or retired crowd and switch over to the younger folks with some money. That's because you guys won't be fueling PRS sales for long. No disrespect. But, I don't know many 75 year olds with excess cash to buy 4k guitars on a regular basis.

Tosca, the research will be most welcome; hopefully it will be able to help me, because during the testing phase that resulted in our press release, I became addicted myself, and now have G.A.S. for more of these things.

The National Department of 594 Soapbars does not believe in age discrimination.

Incidentally, the Director's son -- who fronts a band whose record was released by Warner Brothers last year -- bought a '64 Gibson with two soapbar pickups to make that record with. The Department questions whether you know the right young people any better than you know the right older people. But that is not the National Department of 594 Soapbars' problem.

The National Department of 594 Soapbars always encourages citizens to express their clueless opinions freely. :)

So, I'm ok with your opinion, until you call me clueless.

So...my response is: Ask any person on the street and they won't have a clue who your son is or his band. Just keep that in mind.

That's debatable, but people on the street certainly won't have a clue who you are. So keep that in mind as well.

In fairness, he DID refer to your opinion on this matter as clueless. Rather than insulting you, as a person, as generally clueless. A small but significant difference.

Yes, but Les might be the only person on this forum as brash as I am, and that has never made for a good combo.

What does the National Department of 594 Soapbars have to say about a 1998 McSoapy? I know someone seriously addicted.

If you think pickups don't matter on a Kemper, then you must be playing a different Kemper model than the one I have.

As in real amps , the higher the gain the less the pickups and individual guitar nuances matter. 3 different guitars run into a Dual Rectifier simulator will sound more alike than those same 3 guitars run into a Super Reverb simulator.

I am hoping that a dealer will be offering up a SC594 Soapy with a nice quilt at Experience 2018. Because I might just buy it!

I really like the idea of two soapies, but maybe I'm really 25 years older than I think I am...

Until then, I am trying desperately to maintain a guitar-buying-embargo to save up my toy-procurement account.

Buying pedals instead is not a complete solution, apparently, by the way.

Totally agree!
