Hey all,

I've been continuing to love my Sandblasted CE but I wanted a little bit more out of it. The MannMade tremolo served as an AWESOME upgrade and now I don't think I can ever go back to a PRS Molded SE bridge again. I hope you enjoy the installation and comparison video below!!!

I put the PRS SE locking tuners on my SE CE24 Standard Satin and then installed \m/ pickups (and swapped the tone pot along with them). I was debating 59/09 or \m/ and I'm thrilled with my decision. I would describe the \m/ as 59/09+ They are just a bit more of everything I liked about the 59/09 I had in my original Custom 24. Now that you've shared this video, I definitely need to swap the bridge to MannMade. The only thing left for me would be a new nut if I feel that's warranted. Right now, I don't have any real complaints there,

Thanks for the share!

First of all, what a well-done and entertaining video! The presentation was clear, organized, and informative in every way, especially the comparisons done back-to-back.

I'm overwhelmed by the difference between the two bridges in the vid. While I'm not an SE player, I've often wondered if there'd be a tiny difference or one that was more substantial simply by swapping out the bridges.

This was substantial, undeniable, not subtle.

It sounds like a different, and much better, guitar (assuming one agrees that that more sustain, note articulation, and the way the guitar rings are better than what went before). Very impressive, and way to go John Mann!

My experience with PRS' over a long period of time (1991-present) convinced me that the hardware matters a lot, and especially the bridges.

I simply didn't realize how substantial the differences can be. Bravo and thank you!

Great video, very well done! The sound difference between the before and after is significant (and certainly better in the after). Do you think any of that difference can be attributed to the new strings?

At a minimum: always upgrade the se blocks with John manns. The sustain will increase significantly. Especially if you stay with the steel.
I kept an old SE tremolo that came stock black. I installed a MannMade tremolo. Simply incredible! Nowadays PRS does not create blacked out hardware unless it’s on higher models.

Thanks! Both had been freshly strung up before filming with the same gauge and brand (NYXL 9-46) so I am hopeful the strings weren’t as much of a factor. Of course, variations between batches of strings could definitely contribute!

That’s a great point! My major gripes with the SE bridges are the saddles - I don’t like how they look - and the knife edges, so I probably wouldn’t be able to stop myself with just the block…

Installed a JM Trem on my SE 24-08 CU and it’s killer, saw a a lot of stuff and read a lot about how it’s such a minimal difference is it worth the upgrade blah blah, for me it was immediately clear and most certainly worth it.

Love the guitar, but in my process of tinkering the setup I sheered the TRC screw so she’s now with a TRC but other than that, beautiful. Highly recommend the upgrade to anyone considering it
