Yes, another thread about my very busy granddaughter.

She had a good role in a real-deal movie that's been shot but hasn't been released, so I can't say more.

Yup, the child traveled to Louisville to do a TV ad. Can't name it yet. It's still to be aired.

There's a stage play coming up in the Chicago area this fall, juicy role, but the theater hasn't put the cast list into the world yet, so that's classified/need-to-know stuff, too.

In other words, I can say all I want as long as I don't say anything! 🤣

That's one in-demand kid. Congrats Omi!!

Now you just need a family rhythm section to complement the pro vocal, guitar and keys talent to complete the 'Lazlo Five' band.

You must be the proudest grandfather in the world.
And quite possibly the most grandpa-braggy, which might not be such a good thing!

However, I can't seem to force myself to shut up. 😂

The important thing is that she loves doing it and is having a great time. When she's off-stage, she's a normal 12 year old kid who's not full of herself. A lot of fun to be around.

That’s ultimately the most important thing- remaining grounded and humble as a child actor…sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders and a supportive family.

She and her brother are excellent students, too; he won two academic awards this year. They're nice kids.

One interesting thing about the young actors in Chicago:

They turn out for each other. Age hardly matters; at Omi's last show two actor friends who'd been in shows with her and are college-age turned out in support, and sat behind us in the theater. It's very typical of that community.

Thing is, the kids I've met who are doing this theater work understand that they are very, very lucky to get these gigs, and they all know how hard it is to balance school family, friends, and the demands of acting and doing these shows. Lots of them fly in from other cities and live in the city the show is in for a month or two (with a parent, of course).

I've met quite a few of them. Nice bunch of kids. Truly. The other parents I've met were super-nice as well.
