Established 1960, Still Not Dead
First a few weeks ago, Brett Kingman got me looking into an Eric Johnson Strat, but I didn’t see anything I considered a good price in all the normal places. Then I suddenly see one I like, offer the seller $1200, and he accepts. Great guitar, loads of fun to play.
Next, I’m not looking to buy but am looking at TGP guitar ads anyway and I see a guy selling an as-new Tonare P20e with gig bag for $199… shipped! So now, I’m thinking, I can leave the Martins safe at home on vacations and beach outings, and have something easy to carry that sounds decent. It arrives and, sure enough, not a mark on it. And, an even better surprise, these things sound pretty darned good for a $500 street price acoustic!
After the last couple of years of wading through insanely overpriced guitars, this has been a delightful run of great guitars at great prices. There is hope!
