I just watched a video which pointed out the bird at the 24th fret of a Custom 24 is an owl.

Right enough - it is!!

Is there a guide to the different birds at each fret for the different models?

How interesting!!

Being from Maryland, back in 85 we all thought they where seagulls because Annapolis is on the bay. To young and stupid to know there was no seagulls and to stupid to buy a new PRS model for $850.

Exactly why I don't like the bird inlays. They're just vaguely bird-ish shaped blobs (exception being the etched variety). Plus they're all flying in the wrong direction. That, and I have nearly zero interest in birds.

Agreed! They should be flying away from the pickups since those are the loudest part of an electric guitar, and birds are scared of noise.

yup...the early 513 "birds" are very stylish, and I still admire the bats on the Allender model...the detail and art of those is impressive!
