I've just realized today, as I played around with my collection that 25" has become the most inspirational scale length for my hands. I've been through many different guitars over the last decade or so, as I tried to figure out what my perfect guitar was. For a long time, it was the Strat 25.5". I enjoyed my 24.75's, but my fingers always felt more comfortable with the longer one.

Anyway, today I was messing around with my Strat and my SE, and realized that I was more comfortable with the SE. It's officially my favorite guitar and the reason I haven't had GAS in over a year. However, when it does hit again, chances are, it will have birds on the fretboard.

All the scale lengths work for me, but each one seems to favor different types of sounds. F'rinstance, the 25.5 seems to promote twangier sound on the heavier strings, the 24.5 is fat in the midrange, and 25 does just about everything well.

Paul Smith was definitely onto something when he started building guitars in that scale length.

I have all 3 to have choices, but 25" is my most-used, too.

25.25" is a good compromise, isn't it?
Recently I endeavoured multiscale extended range. Aswell worthwhile to check.
