So I'm prepping my rig for the upcoming Frankie and the Actions reunion show (Jan 18 @ Memories, Waldorf MD), and I'm deciding which guitars to bring. I've got the amps dialed in - I'm running my same old rig with a few small changes (2 full stacks, run wet/dry: Modded MK IV wet, Budda SD80 or Earthquake 100w dry - not sure which yet. Both amps running simultaneously.). I start going through guitars and one of them just crushes everything else through this rig. This one:

The 'Cobra Jet' is the brainchild of PRS's resident Mad Genius Lenny Johnsonstein and his evil, newly betrothed hunchbacked assistant Skitchy. It used to be a 1994 Standard24. Now it's a genetically re-engineered freak of tone. I've been playing a very wide array of guitars for the last couple of years, both in session work and live, but this show will probably be all PRS. I think this and Casper will share #1 duties. Not sure what others I'll bring, but at least one singlecut... more on that as I figure it out.

I was surprised to see (when I logged on to post this!) that PRS is going to sell a production Floyd-equipped guitar. I'll say this: If they are anything like this beast, go get one immediately.

IIRC it's a Tremonti in the bridge and a 57/08 in the neck.

Thanks! Yeah, 2 full stacks, with both amps on at all times, and all 16 speakers pushing air. It's better than sex. Almost. I know, I know... I'm a dinosaur. Here's a shot of me playing 'Lucky 13' through both stacks.

That shot was from when it was first built. It's plenty dirty now. Does it help that I drilled a hole in the body last night for the Floyd's allen wrench?
