Well, I am relatively fearless about working on my guitar, just the wiring thing just doesn't seems all that intuitive to my aged brain. I got one of those free-way switches but the wiring diagrams seem a little complex, so I thought. I'd try something easier.
Speaking of fearless though, it isn't always beneficial....., I did break a truss rod on a strat once by over tightening it. It wasn't the end of the world, though. My fatherinlaw welded it and it worked fine.
Anyway, what kind of "shielded" wire does one use, and where does one get it? I can't imagine it would take much over a foot though.
I'm pretty sure I'd stick with the single coil as in general I like that sound. The output thing doesn't really bother me either, because I'm running it now at around 5 on the volume knob and like it clean. I even bought some Prs p-90's but they didn't fit. Thank god the dealers accepted them back. I'd really like to see/Hear what the split sound is. I've heard the split sound on a Prs custom in the guitar shop but that isn't like listening a home if one is tone obsessed and why wouldn't one be.
Anyway , any help would be most appreciated and I will read the suggested thread.
