Copied from TGP - figured more folks would have insight here...

So i'm looking for a guitar to use for jamband type music that could do both Phish and Dead type stuff (good enough to get by for both - I realize those are very different tones).

Seems this guitar would fit the bill, no? Better suggestions?

I have yet to play or touch a bad CU22 of any kind.
The one on Reverb is killer looking bet it would sound killer

They’re excellent guitars. Had one and loved it. It’s one of the ones I regret selling.

As to what guitars play jam band tones, the correct answer is all guitars. Tone categories and musical style limits are artificial constructs.

People play metal on Strats, and country on Les Pauls and PRSes. Choose the guitar you like, and don’t worry about it.

Musically, I don’t find the semi hollow much different than a CU22. A touch lighter, but not enough to impact me. The semi hollow might have a bit more ring from the skinny strings.

This based on a Dirty 100, and and early semi hollow with the Dirty 100 neck, so same woods, but the semi hollow is missing a bit of body wood and has a glossy top. Both bought new.
