I’m planning on Experience this coming May, and I want to get my first Core guitar. I have a Mira 25th, but I think y’all know what I mean. My concern is that I don’t have any shops nearby that sell enough volume of Core guitars that I can go and try to figure out what I like best beforehand. I’d like to look at the 594 family, Paul’s Guitar, maybe the 35th Custom 24, and whatever the Experience special run is. As far as I know, there’s a time when the shops have their stock out on display for purchase. I don’t expect to run around and grab guitars from everyone’s table and take them to shoot out, but I would like to try some guitars through an amp, even if they’re not the actual one I may purchase - PRS are consistent enough that I’m very comfortable with that. So, what can I expect?

It happens. Frequently. :D

But, you don’t get private time with a particular guitar, necessarily. It’s a trade show-like experience with a ton of people milling about constantly. There have been times where they’ve had the demo “booth” open, but iirc, last year they had a bunch of amps with CabClones available with a variety of different guitars. There will be a lot of guitars available, though. Hopefully I’ll run into you!

Thanks fellas. Not the end of the world if I can't really sit down with them at length, I already know the one I'm most partial to is the "regular" 594. So if I can't go crazy trying them, I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

But then I'll have that nagging question of what the others are like.

And then I'll have to eventually buy those too.

You guys are the best and the worst at the same time.

I think they had amps with cab clones and headphones in the tent at the 30th Anni event, so folks could try guitars, though that event didn’t have a sales floor (my wife was relieved), though I did buy a couple of things at the accessory shop.

The best parts were hanging out in person with so many of the super-nice guys from the Forum, meeting the PRS folks, and seeing the terrific show the bands (including Paul’s) put on.

That really would be a lot of fun! I should just plan to go.
