Techs to the Stars

Greetings. This post might be more appropriate in the "General" forum, but hopefully it will make just as much sense here in "PTC." I just wanted to float an idea past the fine folks in Stevensville: you may be familiar a series of YouTube videos posted by Premier Guitar called "Rig Rundown" in which an interviewer for the magazine takes a detailed look at the live touring or studio rigs of popular players. These tours are guided by the players' techs, or sometimes the player his/herself. After watching Neal Schon's installment (which begins backstage with Neal talking about and noodling on his NS Hollowbody and continues with his tech Adam walking us through his rig including PRS amps) it occurred to me that it might be interesting to see a series of videos in which guitar techs to the stars would be invited to spend a day or two attending a "crash course" in PRS. Essentially the tech would spend a day or two "training" in the various departments. Now, I was a PRS employee for about 4 years (up until a few years ago-- I even interviewed with Shawn Nuthall for the Customer Service position a few months before I unceremoniously left the company- long story- sort of) so I know full well that even a talented and experienced tech/repairperson/luthier cannot be expected to get a slot working in Private Stock after hanging out for a couple of shifts. Therefore, the main goal of the videos would be to cooperatively show off what goes into building the instruments in a more unique an interesting way than can be seen in one of the dozen or so factory tours floating around YouTube, and display the skill and knowledge of the tech. Perhaps the techs could spend the first day jumping from department to department getting an up-close experience in production; then the second day would be spent in PTC where they will see nearly any repair or mod that they would ever potentially encounter (if for some reason there's not enough time to get the guitar to PTC and back-- obviously it would be preferable to have the PTC guys do the work rather than the tech- heh.) And perhaps it could tied in to Experience by showing the videos as part of a seminar or display. Afterward, maybe they'll get a framed certificate and an "I survived PRS Bootcamp" t- shirt. Heh. I feel I should make it clear-- I'm NOT trolling for a job with PRS again-- it just occurred to me that this could be a fun and interesting thing to do without reinventing the whPRS- heh.
Im not sure who at PRS might potentially see this - is Matt K. still Customer Service under Shawn? Either way, whomever sees this (IF anyone sees it) feel free to give it a whirl. I have a few other ideas in the same vein if anyone's interested-- just ask. Forum folk should feel free to weigh in-- would you guys like to see something like this?
Thanks for your time!
