Tech shop question

Hiya. So im practically drooling over this new SE ZM. my only problem is that the new one does not have a glossy finish on the neck/fretboard. now the site says its a nice "woody" feel, but i really dont know how smooth it'll be. info is limited, so my question is: Can I send an SE to the Shop and have them gloss that bad boy up? and if so, any idea what that would run me? any info is much appreciated.

Try it first. I sand all the gloss off the necks on all my guitars. Just because it's bare wood doesn't mean it's not finished. It's still sanded as smooth as possible and the oils from your hands will condition it as you play it. I find the necks to be much faster after removing the gloss finish.

The only use I'd have for a glossy neck guitar would be to check my hair in it's reflection...

Give it a whirl first and then call for a quote.

update: yeah I think Ill have to try it out before i buy it. they want 450$ to gloss it plus 50$ return shipping.........

yeah not happenin. Props to the PTC for extremely quick reply(literally 4 hours), at least way better than I expected. but Im being told that the no-gloss will be smoother. Im just gonna have to hunt for another music store cuz my Guitar Center sucks.
