Cool analog delay pedal with tape flutter.
Looks like you can only get it from Pro Guitar Shop too, kind of like how Guitar Center sometimes has exclusive rights to certain pedals only they can sell.
This is probably better than my TC Electronics X4.
Today we're diving deep into one of our custom presets in the TC Electronic Alter Ego X4, the 'Copykat'. In 1958, Charles Watkins introduced the world to a portable unit that could make a guitar sound like it was at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Armed with a short tape loop that could do slapback echo or medium length rhythmic delay, the WEM Copicat went on to being one of the most popular echo units in history. Thankfully, with TC Electronic's advanced algorithms it was possible for us at PGS to not only recreate the same Lo-Fi frequency range and slight tape wobble but the growling saturation that comes from the unit's input gain. Large amounts of feedback give this preset an even dirtier quality that contrasts beautifully with a clean guitar signal. The 'Copykat" is one of 12 new custom presets created just for the TC Electronic Alter Ego X4, available only at ProGuitarShop.com

Not technically an 'analog' pedal because it's a modeller but looks interesting nevertheless. I own the Flashback and I'm very intrigued about this one...

The first Alter Ego was an exclusive through this shop as well. Had a really nice preset in it too. This one looks really nice too. Love Andy's demos.

Sounds amazing, Andy does a good job with that demo. They are also selling the Alter Ego X4 in the UK at Dolphin Music:

I think it looks and sounds pretty cool.

So it's just a tweaked Flashback so they can squeeze more money out of the pedal-obsessed...
Well, it kinda depends on what features you want to have, right? Just 1 delay setting or 3? Looper? Midi and expression pedal control? Doesn't really seem like a money grab to me. Just addition of features that delay freaks might want/need to make it functional for them. For me, I definitely want midi control to implement it into my rig. Not a big deal for everyone, but necessary for some.

It's just a Flashback X4 that's more focused on the analog models. You have four Tone Prints with the Flashback X4, so you can still get a very good analog fix with the Tone Print editor. No real reason to rush out and also buy the Alter Ego X4 unless you're pedal-obsessed enough to want the exclusive Tone Prints.

The single Alter Ego makes a little more sense to me versus the single Flashback if you mainly want the pseudo-analog stuff (you only get one Tone Print on those).

I love TC stuff, and the Tone Print technology is awesome. This isn't the first time they've done special editions with exclusive models, though. It's a little annoying because they basically say, "With Tone Print, you can create endless variations of your effects--well, except these exclusive ones. You have to buy another, nearly identical unit to get these."
