I've had a sweet spot for the S2 singlecuts since they first appeared...stupid me played a used one at NStuff Music 5 or so years ago and I couldn't believe the sustain it had and the depth of tone, from a little Blues Jr...plus the neck felt like a silk glove...but I passed as I was being "financially responsible"
at the time.
I have a great 2011 Smokeburst McCarty now (and a strat)...but the want for the single cut look and something semi-hollow still haunts me. I stumbled upon this one will doing some 'net window shopping. used 2017 Elephant Gray (looks very black to me) Semi-Hollow. It's a sexy beast, imho.... So, too much overlap in tone with my McCarty ? I dig the idea of the split coil option via two separate tone knobs.
So folks...give me the pros and cons (I was thinking of the SE Hollowbody Standard, but I'm not sure it's something I'd dig.
