I don't know if anyone's watching the latest Season of "Strike" on the BBC: some wag has set-dressed a Denmark Street store (Strike's appropriately shabby London office is up a few flights of stairs) as "Tag's Guitars".

If it gets more than a side-shot, I'll bet the window's well-stocked with PRS guitars and a couple of ODS clones :):rolleyes:

I think the window has been done up as Chris Trigg's old shop V&R (or just stayed as whatever it's currently - and conveniently - doing).

So just a bunch of typical mid-level old guitars and amps, assuming what I've been looking at is the window under the "Tag's Guitars"sign.

I get so lost around here sometimes...

I don't know if it's the UK membership, the age of the prolific posters, the rapport some have amongst each other or a combination.

The whole 'Winger' thing confused me until recently...maybe. I’m still not sure.

Who the hell is "Tag" and why should I give damn?

It just takes time to catch up.

There’s a lot of history on here, most of which as a relatively new guy, im not aware of.

I’m also in the UK. However @Simon Says and I met up summer 2024 for real. He’s a top guy for “lizard man”.

I wasn’t around for the “Tag” era, but apparently he does know tone.

As far as @WingerRules is concerned, he’s harmless. As long as you throw in a Speedo, Kickstand or Julie Bowen comment every so often he’s happy.

It’s that @bodia character you have to watch out for. He’s slippery. Before you know it, you’ll own six new PRS and you won’t have even felt his hand on your back. Enabler doesn’t even begin to describe it.

What? Me, enable……surely you’re thinking of someone else. :p:p:cool:

He’s the resident tone guru and champion of all things PRS and Mesa over at the Gear Page now.
Tag plays Mesa now??

He was always a Dumble guy - in fact, at some point, he owned a real Dumble, the only person I knew personally who went to that trouble and expense. He's the one who convinced me to try and buy my first Two-Rock.

I'm shocked!

Edit: I just took a gander over there, looked up Tag's most recent posts, and sure enough, in addition to whatever else he's got, he has a Fillmore and loves it. Not that it isn't a great amp, but I'm truly surprised. Maybe he changed his playing style. Also loves the Silver Sky.

My first trip to TGP in quite a few years!

Whew! When I read the title, I was afraid Tag had either decided to give up or something happened to him and his guitars were up for sale. I am glad neither of those is true. I get along with Tag with no issues. He is a good player. He is supposedly moving down closer to where I am in a year or two. We were talking at one point about meeting up after he gets down here. He will be a couple hour drive away from me if his plans haven't changed.

I like TAG, and have had more to agree on with him than not over the years. I was pleased when he came back to TGP, as a lot of people with interesting - or even downright challenging - viewpoints had been leaving.

His advocacy of Mesas doesn't seem that much of a stretch really. I'm mainly a Two Rock player, as I've stated here already. However, using similar speakers to what I use with my TRs, along with a variety of pedals, I've been getting very good tones lately with my big Fenders and Mesas.

Which makes sense, since so many TRs and Mesas are sorta in the Fender extended family (at least the ones I've owned over the years).

He does, but his #1 is still the Louis Electric Cobra, an intricately replicated copy of his #183 Dumble ODS

Oh yeah, he is all about the Mesa Fillmore now. I like Tag and was glad to see him return to TGP. Too bad that forum has become a dumpster fire and I try and stay away from it nowadays.
