Hey guys. I really like the large tuner buttons on my Tremonti, so I’ve decided to put large ebony tuner buttons on my Singlecut Trem.

I’ve decided to tweak this guitar a little. When bars book bands again, I’ll play this one the most because it’s very light. I need to shake my ass up there for four hours, so weight is a factor for guitars I’ll play out with. I don’t mind a heavy guitar for around the house :D

I love all of the PRS pickups in my other guitars, but the no.6 in this model are my least favorite. I don’t dislike them, I just want to put a set of Seymour Duncan Amos pickups somewhere, so this is the place. I ordered an Emerson drop in wiring kit to make this really easy, plus I think it’s a good setup for these vintage PAF sounding pickups.

I’m not crazy about the cream pickup rings, only because this Singlecut’s top does not have a natural maple edge; it’s raspberry like the top. So, I’m switching the pickup rings to black. I’m also switching the toggle switch to black.

The speed knobs are too slippery for me. I ordered PRS transparent lampshade knobs with black numbers. That should do the trick.

Thank you very much. I’ll have to order some ebony knobs from Crazyparts in Germany. It takes a really long time to receive stuff from them.

So, I removed the PRS no.6 pickups and I was able to decode the Singlecut’s numbers in MODCAT.

It is indeed a Raspberry, not a Black Cherry. It’s a 20th Anniversary Singlecut, 10 Top.

I’m swapping out the pickups and guts. I also got black pickup rings and a black 3 way switch tip. The Amos pickups are zebras.

I have an SCT as well and love it. I too am not thrilled with the smaller tuners but have not switched them out, perhaps you have motivated me!

I did not like the #6's either and ended up with a Gibson BurstBucker 1 in the neck and a Suhr Aldrich in the bridge. Its kink of a Tremonti set up now. It started off as an attempt to have a PRS LP with a trem using with a BB #2 in the bridge but it was too cool for me. I have Aldrich bridge pups in most of mine now and in the neck in one.

I like the larger tuner buttons. I hope you do make the switch!

I’ll bet that Aldrich is a nice pickup. I’m drawn to that and the Thornbuckers but I haven’t tried either.
