Ok, that's a little freaky...I played a MkIII for 20+ years, retired it for the Super D. The SuperD is voiced completely different from the Boogie - not modern at all. It's like a cross between a Bassman and a HiWatt with EL34 power stage. Tons of low end and it takes pedals like a champ. Swapping cabs yields very different results, too. It has headroom but will bark really well and reacts to my EP Booster beautifully. Match it with a DGT and the combination sounds amazing. If you can demo the amp first, you'll see what I mean.
I'm mostly in the classic rock arena but I'm also steeped in blues. With the right dirt pedals I get great Billy Gibbons tone but with more fidelity and low end punch. A guitar loaded with 11s loves this amp. He'll, I love this amp! Couldn't tell, eh?
