What do you do for fun once the weather turns nice? Meant to be more non music related, but obviously many of us probably go to concerts and festivals and such.

I feel like I don't do much outside of music anymore. I kinda feel like it's music or working on something to do with the house. There's always some project or something to be done. I just put some wash rock around the house and under my deck(which is about 6 feet off the ground). Also put a bunch of dirt down to increase the slope a bit.

Anyway, I always feel like I have something to do and if I'm not doing band stuff or working on a project around the house, I'm tired and just end up online or watching some movies. I feel like I gotta make some time to do some fun stuff outside the norm. Maybe I'll pull my bike down from the garage ceiling. Haven't rode it since we bought the house 2+ years ago.

That's one reason I LOVE it when Experience rolls around. Get on a plane and get the hell outta town for a few days. Kick back and just enjoy the time with my forum buds.

For one thing, Spring through Fall is outdoor shooting weather. Once a month I run a combat pistol match at a local club.

Hiking and photography are easily combined in the Summer.

And for rainy days, there is a local small group into gaming.

I'm the opposite of what you do vchizzle !! I wish I could spend as much time playing my PRS's, as I do, doing crap around the house.
Owning a house can be a full time job in itself.
And just when I think I can see the light, another "honey do" pops up !!

But when I do have the opportunity to escape, I really enjoy going out and listening to some local Musicians play,
or ride my bike, nothing feels as good as being on a bike and getting that much needed exercise and fresh air.
I sit on my ass all day behind a computer, so getting outside is a gift !!!

I camp during the summer, and explore old growth logging roads around the Mt. Rainier area.

Can I come, CoreyT ohpleaseohpleaseohplease???? That looks awesome! :-D

I'm basically activity-inhibited. Half the time I sit down in front of my computer in order to do some music (recording, arranging, writing) I get sidetracked by the big evil internet. The other half I actually do get some music done :-) So I'm a bit of a "desk potato".

Thankfully, my fiancé is a kitesurfer, and while she hasn't gotten me on a board yet, she is good about dragging me outside for other activities (and I'm fairly good at letting her). So in the summer we go for rides on our longboards (basically a long and flexible skateboard - ours are just for cruising, not tricks or crazy downhill riding). We do that at one of the beach areas here in Copenhagen. She's also rented Stand Up Paddles once, and we'll do that more this summer (she bought me a wetsuit). Other than that, we just go for walks in the city.

It's funny, I don't get honey do lists too much. Most of the stuff I do is more for what I want. I'm really pretty happy with the house but it's all stuff I want done for the most part. As a DIY'er, I can't help but start projects. I enjoy doing the stuff and couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it all anyway. I just need to learn to put a cap on projects and take some downtime.

The band part I obviously enjoy a lot, but it does occupy a bunch of my time. I love the writing process most, the creation and discovery between musicians is so much fun. Gigging is fun but has its ups and downs. The time preparing for gigs vs. the amount of time we play is sometimes a little annoying. I'm the most introverted band member of the group so the socialization part appeals to me the least. If I won the lottery and could set everyone up to not worry about bills, I'd do it in a second to be able to spend the time writing and recording. I'd love to have a no budget recording allowance to create and document the process. When it's all said and done, I just want to have recorded some material I'm really proud of.

My better half and I go to the western side of the Chesapeake Bay and hunt for fossils...mostly sharks teeth...and I love cutting my lawn. And we have started regular extended weekends to Texas to visit our oldest and his family, including our granddaughters.

Oh man. My job keeps me really busy. Even though I rarely work weekends I work alot during the week and my schedule jumps all over the place.

When we do get free time it's either shooting or dirt biking.

I ride bikes a lot - a mix of mountain and road and my go-cart like trike. I expect to have enough free time to start paddling: rodeo kayak and cedar strip canoe.

Might clear some trail for next winter.

Probably barbeque a lot.

I have no idea what to do any more. Everything went kinda upside-down for the past 8 months with the surgery deals.

Seems like I used to do more things, but maybe not. After all this time recuperating, I feel a bit out of it.

C'mon Les...you know you're gonna be too busy filming content for the new Lesteban channel on YouTube to have any other plans:rolleyes:

I figure you're doing some exercise, but get out and enjoy the world a bit. You've got a new lease on life! Enjoy it with your wife. Go on some walks, etc. Having the advantage of working your own schedule, you have something most don't. Split it between work, leisure and keep imparting your knowledge with the rest of us. Try the video thing out and if it's fun, keep doing it. If not, don't! Have fun and enjoy your time.

This is Phoenix so summer ≠ nice weather. We hide indoors and get all cabin feverish. Run from one air conditioned spot to another. The only outdoor time we spend is either butt crack of dawn or otherwise in a pool somewhere slathered in a gallon of sunscreen.

What's killing me is, the last few years my allergies have been out of control during the "nice" months, which is usually Feb-April. I've had pneumonia both the last two years and bronchitis the couple years before that.

That said... we're vacationing in western Colorado in July. It's either there or the San Diego area if we want cooler weather.

I flyfish for trout. Trout don't live in ugly places, or hot places for that matter. That or we go for long rides in the mountains of the Carolinas.

I've been thru AZ 2x within a week. First time was going to drive through Flagstaff on my way to CA. Snowstorm rerouted us down thru Phoenix where there was massive downpours. We returned thru flagstaff a week later and there was still a few inches of snow on the ground. Felt like home! :D We stopped and watched the Packers/Bears NFC championship game and it snowing there too I think! Not how I figured AZ would be. Haha

I love to hit the pool, read books, day-drink, hit Montrose Beach reggae nights, go for walks, spray-paint sh!t... I think I might get around to refinishing my sparkled SE CU24 this summer 'cause the poly has sunken into all the glitter paint and I despise the blade switch.

I'm psyched for hot weather, nothing good happens when it's cold outside.

hunt for fossils.
Sometimes I feel like a fossil.

In between handling the usual business, playing music, and old dude whining ("I used to be able to..." or "man, I'll pay for this tomorrow") I'll hit the coast for some surf fishing. Gotta limit the casting or I won't be able to play guitar the next day but the ocean is a magnet to me and I catch good size quality seafood, even some little exotic ones.
