My wife and I just got tickets for 5 shows... in 5 minutes!!!

The combination of C19 and having young kids has kept our concert attendance quite lacking for several years now. The botanical gardens in town (Fred Meijer Gardens) has a great outdoor amphitheater and hosts an excellent summer concert series each year, but the ticket sales have historically been a big mess every year, usually almost everything gets bought up in the member presale and even as members we have had a hard time getting even one show in years past. We managed to get tickets to Amos Lee last summer, but I think mostly due to it being on 7/3 and everyone being out of town.

Well, we made sure to have our s*** together this morning, ticket sales started at 9am and the wife and I furiously booked tickets and ended up with the following:

6/18 The Revivalists
6/22 Gary Clark Jr
7/7 The Verve Pipe w/Grand Rapids Symphony (amazed to get this one as they're local and very popular in town)
7/23 Guster w/Grand Rapids Symphony
9/11 Vance Joy

The venue is incredibly chill, so we're really looking forward to this summer. Basically, bring a blanket or a lawn chair, and you can bring your own picnic if you want as well, we usually snag a couple drinks throughout the night, the lines are very reasonable. The dry season has ended!!!

That looks like a great spot to see a show. As for my concert schedule….nil. Last show I was at was in March of 2019. I was a big concert goer between ‘81 and 2019. I just came to the point where I hate the hassle. Traffic, crowds, prices. Mostly crowds cuz I dislike people :p. The C19 happened which made the “retirement” easier. That last show was KISS on their End of the Road Tour. It was a fitting show for me to call my last.

Gonna go see Ghost in early August. The new album came out today. I'm enjoying it so far, through about half of it. Ghost is the only active band (they're not really a band, I suppose) that's putting out new music that I really get excited about.

This'll be the kiddo's first Ghost show. I haven't seen them since the Prequelle tour in theaters, so seeming them in an arena will be both cool and disappointing. My wife actually wants to go along to this one.

I'm trying to give my son the chance to see shows before some of these folks hang it up or should have hung it up. He's seen Iron Maiden, Joe B., and TSO this last year. Thought about going to AC/DC, but I just couldn't go see them at their age.

Same here. No complaints though. What a wild ride from, in the middle of '73 spring quarter finals, Zep:

through The Who in on Townshend's 70th birthday, ending with 'Won't Get Fooled Again'. Can't top that.

Just added tickets to see Bryan Adams and Pat Benatar. My son is a big Pat Benatar fan. He was singing along with Shadows of the Night when he was three. Not really a summer show, as it's the night before Thanksgiving.
