Suggestions pls and thx

Funny you should say that because both my older son and husband said not to post this on YouTube. I was so excited as I was setting up my camera and then the 99 questions started. What was I doing so I told him. My husband said I was effing nuts to. He guards his privacy with a ferocity that I don’t see often. I can’t post in good faith. I told him I wouldn’t. I just don’t know what to do. I will ask around and see what viable options I have.

And I have mastered Rock n roll damnation. I can’t pass my guitars without picking one up and playing this song a million times.

I was really looking forward to showcasing my talent but there’s other ways.

I wouldn’t care about the negative comments because who are they to judge me and if they did well then I have some expletives for them.
I was told that I think I am a Rock star. Just some really mean and nasty comments. I stop them dead in their tracks though by asking if they have the balls to get up and play in from of others. For the most part they don’t. They are all talk and nothing but. Not even worth thinking about. Being in the band scene for 11 years I have developed a very thick skin. Nothing really bothers me!
I can host the video for you if you would like me to. My server can not support hundreds of simultaneous streams, but it should be fine for your intent and purpose (which is simply to share with us I believe)! Let me know if you would like me to do this and I will write up some instructions on what you need to do. No account required, no logins, no meta info, just a link to your video. That said, we will not be able to "embed" it on the pages of the forum here the way we can YT videos because I am not a "preferred provider" of video streams, but we can provide a link and users can watch it all they like ;~))

As for Youtube vids and privacy, if the haters are out there, they apparently have not found the several dozens of songs I have posted on YT or think my stuff is so great that they could not possibly throw shade at it (he he, ha ha)! I know this is a concern for some, but I have put stuff up there under 4 different artist names for a decade now and do not recall receiving a single negative comment on anything I have uploaded.

You can film this showing only about the size of the guitar in your video view. Nobody will see your face, if that is your concern. I wouldn’t be afraid of doing this and your YouTube account is only tied to your gmail account so it’s not like people will know who you are. Yes, anyone can view it, but… who cares? That’s what you put it on there for, right? So people can view it.

P.S. and I’m working on some things now for work videos. You can film the thing with you in the camera and then easily crop the video to take out your face and just fill the screen with the guitar space.

I get the hecklers thing, while not a live band player (with a guitar anyway) mouthpieces don't bother me. But the idea of not being able to control who sees my video compositions does. Or maybe there's a way of restricting it to certain people that I'm unaware of and just don't know how. I thought it would be a great avenue to send material to some of my associates (that have a meaningful take on music and how to critique it constructively) just to get their take on what they think I should aim for with such a piece. Watching my own recordings is a great help, I'd just much prefer another musical mind's thoughts. But I'll find a way.

I really do want to guard my privacy. No face!! Some don’t care but I do. Hubby and I are very private ppl. It’s important!

So I have already learned Rock n roll damnation.
Just so much to play but here’s the caveat. I honestly tried to play the key it was in. I even tried tuning it down like my ear told me to do but it was still sharp. I cheated and used a standard tuning backing track. I need to add some little embellishments in it. You know just my little quirky touch to the song to sort of make it my own.

Honestly @show_a_little_faith thank you so much for this because my motivation was starting to slack. You are awesome!! ❤️Glad to know there is another ACDC lover besides me.
Resurrecting this thread from a few months ago to add this -
From time to time I sit down and try to learn a song or 2 that I've heard a million times, but never tried to play. Just helps keep thing's fresh and fun. Anyhow, the other day I was learning Poison's "Nothing But A Good Time" and found that it's nearly identical to Rock N Roll Damnation, just with the "A" chords played an octave up on the 14th fret (Poison also tunes down 1/2 a step).

A, G, D - I know there are limitless songs that use that chord structure/intervals, but it just struck me as particularly similar. Not saying it's intentional, just amusing how close they are
