Hello all,
I was wondering if I could get a few suggestions in regard to the next PRS I'll be saving up for. I know the PRS knowledge on here is vast so I was hoping for some direction in my next search. Right now I have an Artist V and am totally in love with it (seriously, there is not one thing I would change about it... it's the most attached to a guitar I've been in 14 years). This said, I also love the idea of having a plan to get a second PRS.
Here are my thoughts so far: I know what I am not interested in, but do not know exactly what to look for. The P22s, Floyd, Signatures and SC245, while I can appreciate their purpose, are not my thing. I have never really played on a 24 fret for that long. I was hoping to find something that sounds different (not necessarily better) than my AV. I am willing to save my pennies and wait for something that may be pricey, but know Private Stock is probably out of the picture. I am not opposed to older models; those older EG series with the 3 Fralins are sweet (I had one over 10 years ago and regret letting it go). The Modern Eagle Quatro I played sounded great and played well (are all ME versions as nice?). I've played but never had a chance to get real with a McCarty or Custom 22/24. Why do I hear that Dragon pickups are something I should avoid? Should I look into the 80s or early 90s? Should I expect big things for the 30 year anniversary?
Anyways, thank you and I appreciate any help/direction/suggestions/ideas you have to offer.
