String spacing on a Tremonti with tremolo

Hey guys!

I’m going to put a set of Suhr Doug Aldrich pickups in my American Tremonti with a tremolo. Can someone please tell me if I need 50mm or 53mm string spacing?

It's 50 mm, but you can also use an F spaced bridge pikcup

I have 3 as described - 2 with 53 and 1 with 50. The 50 was bought used and until Shawn said 50 I thought I had bought the wrong one.

The irony is that the 50 (which I thought was the wrong one) sounds the best.

Maybe I need to flip the 53's to 50....

You said how good they are in another thread, I believe. So, I want to try them out. My neck pickup keeps cutting out and I already changed the pot so I think it has a bad wire. That’s all the reason I need to swap ‘em.

I just ordered the nickel covered Aldrich set with 50mm spacing. I am super excited because I also hear a loose ground so it will be nice to get her back in tip top shape.

So, here’s the before picture:

I ordered ebony tuner buttons, switch tip, and pickup trim rings from John Mann, and the pickups from Matt’s Music in Massachusetts. Both are in New England, like me, so shipping should be pretty quick.

Well, my bridge pickup is back ordered for two weeks. I’m going to wait for it instead of ordering it elsewhere. I try to support the smaller shops whenever I can because I want them to continue to exist. Matt’s is only an hour from home so I consider it a local business.
