Hi all - I just purchased an SC245. An AMAZING GUITAR by the way. I am considering swapping the string gauge from the stock 10's to 9's that I use on all my other guitars. I was wondering if anyone out there may have done this and if it necessitated a set up (truss rod adjustment, action changes, etc.). I realize that I will have to adjust the intonation, but was wondering if this is a significant enough change in string tension that it would need a neck adjustment?

On a change like that, I don't think you have to adjust the TR, but I think it would help...even on a small change like that.

Just out of curiosity, why are you going to 9s? Don't get me wrong, I used to always play 9s (and still do on 25-inch PRS), but on the shorter scale, I think the 10s are a perfect fit.

I would agree 10s work well on a SC245. But you could start by changing just the top 3 strings with 9s and leave 10s on the bottom. It might feel and sound like what you are after, and I can almost guarantee you won't need to adjust the guitar.
