Strat Tones on a 594?

That sounded real good!

Was that a preset on the Spark? I would love to try it out if you will share.

Sounds good. I am not sure that would replace the neck pickup on a Strat or Tele for me, but it sounds good. The whole reason to own a Strat or Tele for me are the neck pickups. I actually like the neck pickup of a Tele more than a Strat.

To Each their own! I originally wanted to get my neck humbucker to sound brighter and this did the trick for me! Keep in mind Spark 40 amp is incredibly bassy.

I just modded the tone off of a preset I'll make it public so you can check out. I think I had my volume around 7 and tone knob maxed out.

"Glassy Clean - JUULIAN"

the tapped 58/15's come pretty close

Yes 58/15S on S2 is very bassy by itself as well so I needed to sort that out. I wanted it to sound more like the coil tap on core 58/15.

I am on a research path to find out if one of our fine members will share the “secret sauce” wiring for a certain “F” type guitar I just found;)

I was able to get a Spark 40 when they first came out. I was not a fan of it and sold it for what I had in it. You are correct, they are very bass heavy. I have no doubt that what you did brightened up the tone as you intended. I was responding to the part about it replacing a Strat. I have played a lot of gigs with Strats and Teles in my hands. The tone you have is definitely useful, but to me, it wouldn't replace a Strat neck pickup. I don't mean any disrespect. That is just my opinion.

No doubt, just glad to have made good use of neck humbucker.

Very cool mod. Have you tried playing it through a tube amp?
Not yet! Haven't decided on which amp to get yet but likely a VOX AC15.

The speaker will make a huge difference. Celestion Blue is the legacy version for the AC15, tho they are not made equally these days. Dr Z makes several really good EL84 small format amps for reasonable money. Maz 18 and Carmen Ghia are good choices. I love me some Vox tones. I just built a point-to-point Trainwreck Express, it chimes and it dimes. Look also at the Z-Wreck small version.

I was leaning celestion blue as it seems to be the go to.

It will be very bright, but maybe that’s what you want. Needs a lot of break in. Scumback makes some great alnicos, (a blue) but specifically their version of the Vox Silver.. warmer, more of a singing lead tone. Handmade in AZ, and they come fully broken in…
