Strap Lock Recommendations?

I use Loxx on everything. They aren't as easy to find as they once were but I really like them.

I want to say Schaller S are slightly wider than normal PRS and fender width. But the older version and cheaper fender version can use the same PRS screw. I save money and get the fender version

I like them on bagels with cream cheese and chives.:p

Some folks blame the schmear shortage on pandemic related supply chain issues, but I believe it's because so many people are using loxx to hold their straps on the buttons. Dunno, seems more slippery to me.o_O

I've been using Dunlop Straploks since my first year in high school and even that first pair is going strong decades later.

I did it on my on 35th Anniversary with extra long screws, no problem at all, just take it slow and us a manual screw driver no power tools.

This may sound "goofy", as I am not high on PRS KoolAid (at least not today), but I always wanted to change out strap buttons on guitars (usually Brand F) with Schallers.

Then I bought my first PRS. An SE even. And although I'm a "bedroom player" ( I don't gig or jump up & down while playing) I never felt the need to install the strap locks on a PRS guitar. The stock buttons work just fine.

My first USA PRS, an S2 ... even better buttons. No Schallers for it either . I just looked at John Manns web page, and he sells set of strap buttons for waaay less than a set of Schallers. Not looking to set a "false economy" , but they appear to be copies of the PRS USA button ... So that is what I will do going forward for any guitar (Well I still have those Schallers I bought and never used for my PRS guitars)

So I think I have bought my last sets of Schallers They are as good as everyone says. Its just that PRS doesn't need them ...

EDIT :SORRY I guess you know that already !
I'm down for Quadripeds as much as the next guy (and he is a little cutie) ... But I recall a story told to me by PRS, of a guy who's dog ... chewed on his guitars neck ?????

You gotta Ban him from the Guitar Room !

Schallers will release with a pull of the button so ...

I also like Marvel. It feels so secure and lets me use the same strap from one guitar to the other easily.

I'm glad these work for you. I had them on a Les Paul and 3 TIMES during gigs they came unscrewed and I almost dropped the Les Paul. I have gone to Dunlops on everything now- never had issues in more than 40 years with them.

Even for home players strap locks can be important, but less so with PRS' strap button location and style. If you play an acoustic, SG, ES-335 or similar with the button on the back of the neck heel then watch out bending over to adjust a pedal...
