Strap for Nitro Finish?

Leather is bad for Nitro right?
Here is a nylon one from PRS.

I have a few other PRS ones that came with the "Thank You" package that are non leather, and they are nice.
I also use Planet Waves straps which are nice.

Myself I have gotten away from leather as most are hard to adjust since you have to weave the one end through the slits in the strap, and I use Schaller Strap Locks, and you have to remove them whenever making an adjustment on the strap.
I have gone back to cotton type of straps with the adjustable plastic buckle which is much easier than using the weaving in and out of the strap slits.

This is my current and favorite strap so far.

Leather is OK for nitro as long as you don't leave the strap on the guitar for long periods of time. For example, don't leave the strap on the guitar and guitar in the case for weeks or months at a time. Leather on nitro for day to day use is fine.

i've used the cheap Ernie Ball nylon straps on my Gibsons for over 15 years. Never had a problem.

I've also used those EB straps (the same two, actually) for 15+ years, with Schaller strap locks. Cheap, and last forever! I only have one nitro guitar, but the EB strap has been doing fine with it for a couple years now.

Shawn has it. I've used leather straps on nitro guitars for 48 years, many brands (leave me alone, I'm OLD). Never ever had a problem.

If you're a guy who has to keep the strap hanging on the guitar forever, remember, too, that some plastic straps will also cause problems as the chemicals leech out of the plastic, and that most nylon straps have leather tabs at the ends for the strap buttons, and those will come into contact with the guitar, too.

So it's just wisest to remove the straps when you're done playing with nitro guitars.

I never leave straps on guitars when they are out and hanging up, or in the case.
Strap only goes on when I play.

I need to check my favorite go to strap again when I get home, as it may not be the Levi's one, and I cannot tell by a pic I have on my website of it hanging off of my cab.

Thanks very much for all the great ideas! I think I can continue to use my Moody leather strap, and remove the strap after playing.
