I have a bit of a conundrum, regarding attaching my really nice leather strap to my A55E.

The upper (neck) strap button sits on the bottom side of the neck, an in order to attach the strap, it must wrap around the heel of the neck. To be honest, this looks like hell, and i am afraid it will prematurely wear down the finish. On my alvarez, the strap button was on the bottom of the heel, and i felt there was no issue with appearance and wear.

Is there a product that extends the strap hole location that does not sacrifice security and wont cause excess wear. Or, should I just install a new strap button in the bottom of the heel?

I'm not exactly sure how or why that became a normal location to put a strap button... you see it there on a lot of acoustics, though. I have two acoustics and neither had any strap button at all on the front, leaving you to Johnny Cash it if you are standing. On one I play at home, I just put a button on the back of the neck heel, being careful to drill a pilot hole to avoid cracking anything. It works fine. I have to admit I still use the tie to the headstock on my HD-28. It works, but looks a little odd to me.

I thought about the headstock method, but its not me, i never liked how the guitar moved with it attached up there. I might do the bottom of the heel, and leave the original one where it is.

I forgot to mention, check the space in the case. The strap button back there does lift it some.

I placed a EB straplock button on the bottom of the heel. I had a set of Black EB strap locks floating around for another project, but repurposed them for the Acoustic. Conundrum solved. Thanks for the help @RickP
