Just bought a used PRS S2 SC (pictures to come upon arrival)
Have heard a lot of great things here about the Mann made Stop Tail. Has anyone tried the
Schaller Signum Bridge from Stew Mac ?

Haven't seen that one before but just glancing at the specs, the 12 inch radius on the bridge wouldn't match the 10 inch radius of your guitar. Not sure how huge of a problem that would be in reality but something to think about.

Honestly, for the price of that, I would spend a little more and just get the Mann Made bridge. Heard a ton of great things from guys who are using John Mann's bridges

Don't know anything about that Schaller, but as the proud owner of 5 MannMade 2300 stop tails, I can tell you they are the SH!T!!! Can't go wrong there.

All I can say is that I saved money and got the TonePros for an SE Singlecut, and it's annoying to string up. It has two holes with nothing to keep the tip of the string from falling down before it goes thru the 2nd hole.

Never used one, but I've never heard a single complaint about the Mann bridge. If I were to replace a stoptail, I'd go Mann.

I went Jason Schroeder locking studs and bridge on all my stoptails. It`s the only setup other than John Mann that I think adds to the tone.

Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about the stock tailpiece?

To me, the Mann is most in line with Paul's tone formula and is therefore my choice.

The Signum seems to be Schaller's own version of the adjustable they made for PRS, so I'd expect it to have a little more zing. The 12 inch radius isn't ideal, but won't be bad.

I know this was directed at the OP, I think. But, since I've converted all of my stop tails, I'll offer an answer; I had intonation problems using 7s and 8s with the non adjustable original version. John's was the answer to my issues.

Would you change them out if you played 9s or 10s?

That's a good question. I think I would. To my ears there's a little more sustain and "clarity" or "openness" to notes. This sentiment is shared by others around here that have made the change. Now, I don't think I would go any other route than John's or an original PRS adjustable stop tail. I'm sure there are other companies that make a great product, but I believe in John and his products as I do with the PRS replacements.

A little off topic, but may be some useful info.

I also bought my S2 Singlecut used, and the stoptail studs were a little beat up (looks like a screwdriver with too narrow of a tip was used to adjust them, probably with tensioned strings), so I wanted to replace the studs. It turns out the S2's stoptail studs are not the same thread pattern as on the Core model, so they aren't a direct swap (found out the hard way). I contacted PRS about where I could purchase replacement S2 studs, and they just sent me a set for free. Awesome!

As far as the stoptail on the S2, my understanding is it's the same as what's used on the Core model. So singlecut buyers get a bonus there, whereas S2 trem buyers get an SE trem. Just wanted to offer that in case you were thinking of changing it to get a higher quality part.

I've got 10's on mine, and lowered the action, and was still able to get dead on intonation with the stock stoptail. If you're set on replacing it though, seems like the Mann is a terrific option.

Also looks like the 2016 models have adjustable intonation, so perhaps that stoptail will be available from PRS to purchase at some point.

Not sure yet about the stock as I have not even received the guitar yet. Just thought an adjustable would be a nicer setup.

I think I know the feeling. The one-piece on mine is perfectly good, but I can't help wanting to make it more better-er. ;)

The old PRS adjustable on my HBII was also perfectly good, but I was itching for something to fiddle with and heard all the good stuff about the Mann Made 2300, so I made the switch.

And hatter is right on the parts. The bridge itself is the same as Core, but the studs are metric and don't look as nice.

I have a tonepros on my SC245, and after a quick back and forth with John Mann...I'm getting a 2300 to replace it, hopefully soon. Yes it's more expensive but I've heard nothing but fantastic raves about them and customer service is top notch.

Just go for Mann

This! Really, THIS!

PRS wrote back and says the adjustable tailpieces are not available yet as they are holding them all for production at this time. I can Wait MAYBE?

I am pretty confident you would survive for a while even with the stock one.
