I only have an office chair, so I tend to play standing up. I need to be able to sit sometimes.

PRS doesn't make a guitar stool anymore. :(

What do y'all have and like?

24" or 30" or some other height?

Back/no?

Other features, like built-in guitar stand, etc?

Basic wheeled/spinning office chair with backrest for me--pneumatic height adjustable, but it's the kind without arms, which is what makes it workable. (Please guys, no Def Leppard drummer jokes here... it's too late, I already said so.)

Edit: from the options above, I went ahead and voted "24 inch with back." Keep in mind, too, that if you go with a taller stool, it'll be much harder to bend over & futz with pedals 'n stuff, if you're ever messing with any of those while practicing.

I use drum chairs. They're ok. I have one with a back, and one without. If I were in the market, I'd check these out.

MA Pete has/had a couple. They can't be beat. Really comfortable, but kinda pricey.

Was looking for guitar-specific stools, and then found this at Staples online - sturdy, super-comfortable, and only $120. It's sold as a drafting stool. Perfect height (adjustable), mesh back, no arm rests, foot rest, and casters (optional):

I use one of our spare dining table chairs...I tried the piano stool but didn't like it. Used the hide-a-bed in the spare room for years. I stand or sit in a deck chair when I play outside.

Those are...not cheap. Must be amazing!

I use a gamer chair with moveable arm rests. I can make them taller, move them out of the way, pretty much position them almost anywhere.

I also use a TAMA drum throne if I'm tracking acoustic guitars or keys.
Yeah, I have a very bougie problem: my work bought me a Herman Miller Aeron but the arms don't get out of the way.

It replaced the old armless Ikea office chair, which I'm using for music now and not loving.

I purchased my guitar chair from a Company called SoundSeat (located in North Carolina) in 2014

Here is a link to their web site

When I was at my local guitar store, I asked what kind of guitar seats / stools they had and they turned me on to this company.

My chair gets sat in a lot and it still looks and feels great in 2022. Almost no maintence to date.

The downside - The chairs are not cheap!

I've been on a similar hunt and this is the one I've been thinking about.

Pfft…a few root canals, no problem.:p:D
Sorry about the angry rating for your post, but my dental work is going to hit about $20K this year, and the latest (after getting a crown put on #2 in March) is go get a root canal on that tooth (so I am a bit sensitive to those words)! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Interfering with my attempt to purchase the PRSi I NEED!!!
