Starla Strings?

Anyone here tried flatwounds on their Starla? Ive just scored a secondhand core model and im bowled over by the sound of this thing but wondered if flatwounds might suit it even better?

Haven't tried that. Although it kind of reminds me of a Gretsch with better sustain.
