Guys,
I have a line on a 2002 Standard 22. Price is okay, not great, BUT.. the previous owner did the Scotch Guard thing to the neck removing all the gloss.

Is this something that can be rectified by me or a local tech. I can get something off of the price, but certainly not enough to offset sending the guitar to PRT.

Oh... I'm not looking for someone to tell me to try the guitar scuffed, I might like it. I DO NOT care for necks that have been scuffed like that. I honestly don't mean to be rude with that statement, but that line of answers isn't helpful.

Thanks guys... I appreciate your input.

well... it... depends...

If there is enough finish left on it you can polish it back up but the finish will be thinner than it left the factory. If he went nuts there might not be enough left to get back to gloss without a new coat.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think I'm going to pass, even though I love the rest of the guitar. Thanks for your insight, DHW.
