Oh man. I totally deserved that.

I read my last (and, ironically, first ever) post, and I realized that I came off as an idiot. I'm usually the type of person who tries out things before buying them; I don't know why I asked anyone to choose for me. But if it means anything, I didn't have the intention of going around ordering people to convince me to buy x.

Terribly sorry about that,

abwh

But I do intend on trying out PRS guitars to be my next guitar. If nothing satisfies me, obviously I shouldn't buy one.

Not to worry. We all make mistakes...

Hell, we let Les stick around, we'll let you... ;)

Gee that other thread went really sideways, didn't it? Try to play some different models to get a feel for which body style and neck profile you like best. Then come back and ask for recommendations based on something a little more specific. A $2k budget allows for any SE or S2 new, and there's a wealth of different core stuff available used for that money. Have fun!

I had no intention of buying a PRS when I went out guitar shopping for a set-neck humbucker guitar to fatten up my tone. The PRS guitar I bought did all the convincing I needed. :)

Eight years later, my only regret is that my custom 22 continues to ruin every other guitar I play. None can live up to it.

I was looking for a Les Paul, when I first tried a PRS. That was 15 years ago, and 30 some odd PRSi later.
I -did- finally get a really nice R8, and a killer Murphy aged R6...
