Whiskey In The Jar - Thin Lizzy's version I love this vid, Phil's playing a Tele! And can we get a little love for Eric Bell? Dude gets overlooked way too often when Lizzy guitarists are being discussed.
Yes it was! I seem to remember that Phil said at one time Eric was the only one who could play Whiskey correctly.
How about it! And while we're at it, this is a long-time favorite version of mine. One of the greatest musicians I ever met. And a fabulous performance with an unreal solo from an underrated guitarist.
Run For Your Life. Runner was a band that was together from 1978 until 1980 while releasing just one album and sadly never touring. Run For Your Life was probably their biggest song and was more keyboard based, but then Hagar covered it on his 1980 Danger Zone LP with more of a guitar driven vibe. Steve Perry from Journey provided the harmony vocals and Tom Scholz of Boston produced the song. I like both versions, but I like Hagar's guitar driven cover better.
