Do you think there will be another smaller amp out later like the Archon, but lower wattage?
I am still seriously thinking of getting an Archon, but since I do not play out anywhere, a much lower wattage one would be nicer, but with the same controls and tones.
Perhaps maybe a 50/22/7 watt, much like my Carvin V3M which has the same power output with 4 EL84 and 4 12AX7 tubes.

A smaller wattage one would be nicer for home use and the occasional jamming with others if I packed it up to go somewhere.

You could go with the 100W version and get one of these for your headphones and small cabs:

I have been asking for a low wattage amp from PRS forever, at least one that rages like the Archon. Twenty watts with high gain and channel switching please.. Seems all other amp makers have this in their range, and I know from having had a twenty watt version of their H combo they could do it without really retooling anything major to make it happen. I love the amp I use now but it is HEAVY and a pain in the rump to drag around. I would rather drag a head and 4x12 than the boat anchor I have now, but it sounds killer so I deal.

Impossible. Direct guitar tones suck for every application.

Putting your guitar through an amplifier and a cab simulator is different from going DI!

Direct is using a direct box straight into the console or interface. No amplifier, no amp models, nothing but the DI box.

And my feeling on that is that it does suck.

You want to put the output of the DI into software models, etc.? That can sound really good. But it's different, and usually referred to differently in my experience...
