Hey all!

I got a new PRS CE24 Semi-hollow back in late May and it's a great guitar. In the last couple weeks, it's developed some troubles, however. Here's the nasty sounds it makes:

This is the clean channel of a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, but it also happens on my Line6 HX Stomp. My other CE24 does not have this kind of nasty fuzz in the sound. I've tried multiple cables and a couple different amps and different channels, and also even adjusted pickup heights. It wasn't like this when I first got it, so I don't know what happened. I've hit the pots and the switch with some Deoxit cleaner and worked it in by spinning the pots and flipping the switch back and forth. I can't get it to go away. It's just this guitar, and none of my others exhibit any signs.

Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Maybe a bad solder joint? If your comfortable with it, you can reheat the solder joints and add a bit if needed. Otherwise, the place you bought it could probably handle it. Good luck!

Sounds like it’s happening on the neck pu but the bridge is ok? Must just be a dodgy connection somewhere in there

Bad solder joint is also what the shop I bought it from suggested, so you guys are all on the same page. They've got all my info and they're going to get PRS involved. Thanks for the replies!

I'm not comfortable doing the mods myself. My solder joints are always crap, too. LOL So I'll leave it to the experts.

So it went back to PRS. Turnaround time from the time I reported the issue to the time I got it back was around a month to 5 weeks, which I feel is pretty good considering everything going on in the world. They replaced the volume pot and the bridge pickup. I got it back about a week ago.

Everything is great now.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out.
