So in a weak moment I sold a great Quatro and I really miss the split tones. Would a 2012 P22 with the uncovered 53/10's give me the warm split tones with the 5 way switch? Or is part of that missed tone the superb build that I regrettably sold? The rosewood neck QUatro (7lbs 14 oz) had real good sustain.

Has anyone been disappointed going to the P22TM version after using the Quatro's?

I noticed a Quatro, or two, on Reverb. One has a trem and my old one didn't. But it has a lot of dings in the finish on the bottom edge. Can these be repaired easily?

Anyhow I appreciate any 53/10 tone expectations from the two slightly different designs.
I play a lot of clean tones(the 53/10's had the single coil clarity with warmth) and I play 50% acoustics so I am thinking of getting a 2012 P22. Also would just bite the bullet and get another Quatro if recommended.

I also like the full Pattern neck and am wondering if the Pattern regular would have slightly narrower string spacing at the nut.

I had a Quatro. The decision to let it go was bittersweet. I love the 53 10s for the same reasons you do and more. I bought a 594 to take its place. I am more pleased with the the 594 and the 58 15LTs. They do the same job better in my opinion. Would I like to still have my Quatro? Yes, but I dont think I would play it. The 58 15"s equal or trump the 53 10's overall, at least to me they do. They are still some of my favorite pickups along with PRS#7's, which I find to be right there with these pickups. I would suggest a 594, or wait till after NAMM to see if the 58-15's make it into other models. If you really need those acoustic options, find a P22 from 2012, which has the 53 10s.

Never had a Quatro but I do have a 2012 P22 with rosewood neck. I was told by PTC that the pups are 5708 though, not 5310.
The neck is def thinner than my McCarty wide/fat but is very playable. I'll admit to liking the wide/fat a tad more.
I'm a huge fan of this guitar. I have two wireless packs, one goes to my Custom 50 amp, and the piezo out goes to the PA. The versatility is absolutely amazing, but I wish I could help you with the 5310 conversation.

I love 5310s and would love to have a Quatro. I have 8515s and will be putting them in my Mccarty so I will be able to do a direct comparison for myself.

Sounds great. I just missed out on a 2012 Sunburst P22 with 53/10's for a very reasonable $1850. I see a half dozen 2012 guitars elsewhere.... trying to get a preferred color.

I like the idea of two wireless signals.
I have not heard of this but I do play more acoustic these days than electric.
This duo connection sending is very timely information for this old 6 string'er!

I like the P22 a lot and the 53/10s are part of that. If I had not acquired the AP HBII (57/08s) and PS Singlecut (59/09s, plus piezo) I would no doubt keep it long term. But something has to give.....
