My Nitro finish DGT has some soft spots by the strap knob. It's been like that for months and hasn't hardened? Help!

Have you, by any chance, left a strap on the guitar for any length of time?

Yup from my strap. On bottom button too. Any ideas on how to fix without doing a refinish?
