So Just How Many Pedals Do You Own?

Am trying to provide a good accounting of what's built in to my FM9 floorboard. First of all, there are at least 34 different types of effects. One of these types includes a DRIVE block, which consists of about 77 different DRIVE effects. Then consider REVERB. There are about 78 different REVERB effects. Consider DELAY. There are 28 different DELAY effects. I could go on.

What fascinates me is that there are the possibility of one pair of AMP varieties, and 328 different AMPs.

Lastly, the possibility of 2 stereo CABs, or 4 CABs total with 1024 different factory CABs and 128 legacy CABs. Not to mention the possibility of adding 1024 user CABs uploaded to your FM9.

Given that the actual price of each AMP and CAB varies widely and because the actual speaker CAB can vary from 1x8 to 8x10, I decided to let the statistics experts take over regards this, because the sheer number crunch would have boggled my mind. That and the the cost of owning a secure structure that could store all of these individually must be astronomical.

FTR, an FM9 new ballparks about $1700, plus either power amp and unpowered CAB, FRFR, or powered AMP and CAB connected via 4CM. IIRC, FM9 rig cost $2695 plus proprietary FX board, expression pedal, Peterson StroboStomp Mini tuner and numerous cables, a regulated power source. I'd hazard to say about $3350.

That's for the big shamu. My backup amp is a 1x12 30W combo reverb boutique amp; with a mini FX consisting of 1 overdrive and a tuner.

In real life, sometimes it's nice to own a boatload of virtual gear for a fraction of its actual cost. Reality also dictates when a gig will allow you to haul in your dream gear, perform a sound check, and sweat bullets until it's your turn to play. The alternate reality involves bringing in your 30W combo and mini FX board and sitting through newbs and codgers do justice to folk and modern tunes, then when it's your turn, simply switch on your amp, engage the crowd with some small talk while tuning and hope to heck the rhythm house guitarist can accompany you to Barney Kessel's adaptation of St. Thomas.
I'm a only 2 deep into modeling world; Katana 50 MKII(deep edit vis Katana Librarian) and Headrush Flex Prime.
Bought them as toys and experiments and they have totally exceeded my expectations

IMO, if you can't "get it done' with the cheap sh*t available these days; it's a "you" problem.

I just looked around me and I have 11 pedals out and within reach at the moment. I also have two pedal boards in their cases within my reach that probably have 8 or 10 pedals on each of them. Across the room I have a cabinet that I bought specifically to store pedals in their boxes and it is almost full to the point of not getting any more in it. This doesn't include the 2 modelers I have in floor board format (Kemper Stage, Fractal FM9) setting near me. I may have a pedal addiction issue. :)

11 including the one I just ordered ... a Jackson Hourglass dual compressor

4 in use.
Polytuner, compressor, hx stomp, ditto looper

I have 'drive pedals' in hx stomp and a delay, been experimenting and current favourites are software copies of a range master, earthquaker devices plumes and a nobles odr1, ran into my AC15

I never used pedals much in the past but in the last 3 years or so I have been.

I have about a dozen and I'm actually preparing to put a board together. I'm guessing I'll have maybe 8 on the board when I'm done.

Now, parts drawer? That's a different story.

I decided to organize and document my pickup stash. I have a problem.........

I’m going to have to disagree with you on the wife thing. Pretty sure mine is the greatest one ever.
And I will have to disagree with you. I know mine is the greatest one ever.

Maybe they are all related?
Same woman that can travel with a thought? This one can't be it. I know I am all one woman can put up with, and then some.

As far as overdrive/distortion pedals are concerned, I'm having a 250-ish sort of a moment. The Analogman-modded YJM 308 has proved a revelation, in combination with a Diamond compressor. I'm planning on getting a JHS Preamp Overdrive and a DOD 250 50th Anniversary to go with these, as soon as I recover from the Xmas money pit.

I'd also like to try the UAFX Enigmatic. In that vein, maybe PRS should bring out a JMOD preamp pedal - that might get my attention too.

Total pedals? Currently, somewhere north of 20. The majority of them are drives of some sort.

I am about to get my 45 year old JMP 2203 back from it's first re-cap. That ought to satiate your amp gods.
The amp/equipment gods are never satiated. They must be feared, worshipped, and continually be sacrificed to!

I make a frequent pilgrimage and do that on the Holy of Holies Altar of the Temple of Reverb.

I hope you got the chassis gold-plated, and the knobs set with rubies and diamonds, or it's off to the bad place for you......

Ya'll are giving me an inferiority complex...

I'm actually quite fine with my 2 Calines, they give both extremes of the over-drive/distortion spectrum...and they sound great doing their specific thing.

FX, I'm actually very satisfied with the onboard FX my SS Champ 40 has, usually just reverb and delay.

Like I've said in other threads; I'm a simple dude with simple tastes, and I only gotta please myself.

11 if you count the volume control. I don't need any more than that. I might want a different ambient than the Oceans 11, but it's not a pressing matter. The wife didn't seam to get too bothered when I bought pedals, as much as she did guitars. But I was trading in 2 or 3 at a time to cover some of the cost of a new one. I don't want to give up guitars like that anymore.

Current lineup in order:

Direct input:

Fender The Bends compressor
Fender Pugilist Distortion
Fender The Pelt OD
Fender Full Moon Distortion
Ernie Ball Volume Control w/SR Tuner out of the chain

FX Loop:

PRS Wind Through The Trees Flanger
Time Space Echo Delay
Fender Bubbler Chorus
Electro-Harmonix Oceans 11
Boss RC-1 Loop Station

Current set up runs 13 pedals, and though I just did a culling of the herd, there are another 5 that are still sitting around unused. Those will probably go soon to fund my small bass board that replaces my ME-50B that I finally retired.
